Currencies


The U.S. dollar (USD) is generally stronger today but still mixed against many currencies. European currencies are generally weaker with the euro at its lowest level for the week but still consolidating above key resistance near $1.0880. Emerging market currencies are mixed with India and many Latin American currencies slightly stronger while Asian and Eastern European currencies are weaker.


Stocks, Bonds, and Commodities


Asian equities were mixed with Chinese and Australian equities weaker but Japan and India were stronger. European equities are all in the red and U.S. equities are opening about 0.60% weaker. G7 short and medium interest rates are generally lower on the day. U.S. 2-year and 10-year yields are both down by 2 bps today at 1.05% and 2.28% respectively. Commodity prices are weaker with oil and copper down again but iron ore prices are higher in five of the past six sessions. Gold is near unchanged at $1,063.00.
